March 2003 - Platinum Europe AwardsApril 3, 2003 - March sees four previously-awarded albums reach a new level of sales across Europe. Manu Chao's Proxima Estacion: Esperanza has achieved sales across Europe of two million, winning the artist a second Platinum Europe Award. French-born to Spanish parents, the multilingual artist melds a wide variety of influences from punk rock to Latin flavours into a freewheeling brew on this, his 2001 release. Queen, The Platinum Collection, has it all. Seven Seas Of Rye, Bohemian Rhapsody, We are The Champions, Somebody to Love, The Great Pretender… are just some of the 51 top tracks in one platinum package, which, spurred by the success of the musical We Will Rock You, has achieved a double Platinum Europe Award. Top scorer at this year's US Grammy awards, Norah Jones' sweet sounding debut Come Away With Me racks up a further million sales to achieve three million - and a triple Platinum Europe Award. With national platinum or multi platinum awards in 11 European countries, plus gold in four more, the album reached number one across Europe a year after its release and is still going strong. Eminem's latest, The Eminem Show, continues to be one of the world's current best sellers for one of the world's best known artists, notching
up a further million to hit four million sales in Europe and a quadruple Platinum Europe Award.
