Music industry conference in Mumbai next week

Indian Music Industry, the body that represents the recording industry in India, is backing a conference taking place in Mumbai on 26th August. The Nokia Music Connects conference brings together international and local music industry players to discuss prospects for the sector in the world’s second largest country.

The conference will feature a series of keynote speakers and high powered panellists. They include Neil Warnock, the agent who brought Michael Jackson to India; Liz Schimel, Nokia’s global head of music services; Linkin’ Park’s manager Rob McDermott; Shridhar Subramaniam of Sony Music; Rajat Kakar of Universal Music and Seymour Stein of Warner Music Group.

Subjects up for discussion include the changing music scene in India, the country’s evolving digital infrastructure, how to kick-start the live scene and working with new business partners.
